Product Description

1, 4-dioxane is an excellent organic solvent, widely used as a solvent for cellulose acetate and many resins, mainly used in the pharmaceutical industry as an extractant, in the production of 1,1, 1-trichloroethane as a stabilizer, in the production of polyurethane synthetic leather, instead of dimethylamide, tetrahydrofuran as a volatile solvent. Used as stripping agent in coating and paint process. Used as a solvent and dispersant in the dye industry. Used as a stabilizer in printing inks. And can be used as metal surface treatment agent, can also be used in cosmetics, spice manufacturing, electroplating and other aspects. Dioxane can be arbitrarily mixed with water, often containing a small amount of diethyl alcohol Chemicalbook acetal and water, and long-stored dioxane may contain peroxides (see ethyl ether for identification and removal). The purification method of dioxane is to add 8mL concentrated hydrochloric acid and 50mL water to 500mL of dioxane, reflux for 6-10h, and in the reflux process, nitrogen is slowly introduced to remove the generated acetaldehyde. After cooling, add solid potassium hydroxide until it can no longer dissolve, remove the water layer, and then dry with solid potassium hydroxide for 24h. Then filtration, heating reflux in the presence of sodium metal for 8~12h, and finally distillation in the presence of sodium metal, pressed into the hungry wire sealed preservation. Purified 1, 4-dioxocyclohexane should be kept out of contact with air.
