Use as an organic solvent production method from furfural (or furfuryl alcohol) catalytic hydrogenation. The hydrogenation catalyst was Cu-aluminum alloy with alkali as cocatalyst. The reaction pressure was 0.3-0.5MPa, and the hydrogen to furfural molar ratio was 10:1 at 200ºC. The reaction product is condensed, steamed and distilled to produce the finished product. Raw material consumption quota: furfural (96%) 1400kg/t, hydrogen 630m3kg/t, copper-aluminum catalyst 114kg/t.
